Casino Bonus Tricks
All you ever wanted to know about online casino bonuses.
Casino bonuses may be found in three forms: Match bonuses, no-deposit bonuses, and free money (deposit option) bonuses. In this article I will shed some light on all three of these bonuses and identify some ways in which casinos try to trick and mislead the player.
Match Bonuses
Match bonuses are the most common and largest bonuses found on the Internet. As most of you know, casinos reward players with free money when they play at their casino. However, these bonuses come with many restrictions and hidden tricks.
The first restriction is the playthrough requirement, or how many times the player must bet his deposit and bonus in order to cash out. Most casinos average around 10x the bonus and deposit, but some can go as high as 25x. This means that once a player has entered into a bonus contract he cannot cash out AT ALL until he has bet the required amount.
The second restriction is often overlooked. Many casinos restrict the games that can be played in order to meet the match bonus. For instance, most casinos restrict the player from using craps and roulette bets to meet the playthrough requirement. Some casinos offer huge match bonuses, but restrict ALL table games, which means players will be forced to play slots and video poker if they want to cash in. You can find bonus restrictions in the terms and conditions of bonuses, which I highly recommend every gambler reads.
Another trick is subtle and very often overlooked. Casinos that have lower payouts will offer higher bonuses. Almost all players look at bonuses and very few look at payouts. So, casinos have an incentive to max out their match bonus and offer lower odds.
Once knowledgable about match bonuses, players may use them against the casinos. I know several people who have made a lot of money off casinos using their bonuses against them. Make sure to read the terms and conditions and check out the odds (payouts) and most of your bases will be covered.
No-Deposit Bonuses
No deposit bonuses are free money offered by casinos for just downloading and registering a credit card. I have registered several credit cards before and it is safe. The one time I turned my no-deposit bonus into $100 and tried to cash out (after meeting the playthrough) I realized what the trick was. Some casinos won't let you cash out until you deposit real money and bet it a certain number of times. This is not true of all casinos, but remember that there is no such thing as a free lunch. Just remember to carefully read the terms and conditions of no-deposit bonuses before downloading.
Free Money (deposit) Bonuses
These bonuses are given to players when they use a certain deposit option. From experience, the biggest free money bonuses are given by the most expensive money tranferrers. For instance, players may get a free $25 for using FirePay, but FirePay charges players $10 for every withdrawl. Make sure you are aware of all fees pertaining to cashing out before signing up for a deposit method. Most money tranferrers would not be able to offer such bonuses unless they can afford to make it up somehow.
